Concordia alumnus Simeon Pompey has been recognized as an exemplary participant of The First Tee, and the 2010 RBS Outstanding International Contributor of the Year.
The award recognizes a deserving international Chapter volunteer whose efforts have exemplified The First Tee Nine Core Values in affecting the lives of program participants.
“Simeon has been an active member of the alumni in support of Recreation and Athletics for years and we are extremely delighted that his work in the community has received this extraordinary recognition,” said Director of Recreation and Athletics, Katie Sheahan.
Pompey (on the far right in the photo) was honoured, along with other recipients, at the awards ceremony and dinner held on July 8, 2010.
The First Tee is an initiative of the World Golf Foundation. Its mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
The RBS Achievers of the Year Award, now in its seventh year, is a program created by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, in conjunction with Charter One and Citizens Bank, to recognize outstanding participants of The First Tee and to help fund their ongoing education after high school.
