Construction work on Place Bethune

Beginning April 18, the City of Montreal’s construction project for Place Bethune will resume work. This phase of the project consists of continuing the installation of the granite sidewalk and plaza and improving the landscaping with the addition of trees and benches.

During the work, the area in front of the GM building from Guy St. eastwards will be closed.

Alternate pedestrian routes from the Guy–Concordia Metro Station to the Henry F. Hall or Library buildings include:

  • The sidewalk on the North side of De Maisonneuve.
  • The new tunnel from the Metro to the Hall & Library buildings.
  • Through the EV & GM buildings via Guy street.

Access to Java U will be maintained from its Guy street entrance.

Access to the Thai Express will be maintained through the main GM entrance.

The work will take several weeks.
