In the plague-ridden city of Thebes, King Oedipus discovers that he, unwittingly, has been married to his mother, killed his father, and thus caused the demise of his city.
Employing original music and multimedia design, this production is re-imagining the ancient myth for our time.
Oedipus will be initially performed at Concordia University followed by a tour to Toronto’s Theatre Passe-Muraille in May of 2009, where the Concordia cast, along with students from six other Canadian theatre schools, will perform Oedipus as part of City of Wine, staged for the first time in its entirety.
Admission fees are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.
Tickets can be purchased in person only at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall box office (7141 Sherbrooke Street West, SC01-10) and will be sold at the door (subject to availability).
