Shirin Ebadi’s presence at Concordia is part of the Week long celebration of all Women on campus the week of March 8.
Ebadi is renowned for fighting for Human Rights in Iran, especially rights for Women. She was the first Iranian to have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. She was awarded the Peace Prize for her outspoken campaigns for human rights and democracy in her own country of Iran.
At Concordia, she will be speaking on “Peace, Women and Iran”.
