Christine Webb, Director and Principal of the Institute for Co-operative Education, has left the university

Olivier Dyens, Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning, has announced that Christine Webb, the Director and Principal of the Institute for Co-operative Education (ICE), has decided to leave the university for personal reasons, effective Wednesday January 13, 2010.

Associate Director Chen F. Huang has taken over as Interim Coop Director until a new director is found.

Vice Provost Dyens has expressed his warmest thanks to Christine for her eight years as Director of the Institute. Under Christine’s leadership, the Institute has grown into an essential part of Concordia, offering over 30 undergraduate and five graduate programs. There are now more than 1,000 Concordia students actively pursuing academic excellence and practical work experience through the Co-op program.

“Christine has done an admirable job in taking our co-op program to where it is,” said Vice Provost Dyens. “The new director’s challenge will be to move co-op into the Francophone market and to position the ICE as a Canadian leader in co-operative education.”

The university community joins the entire team at the Institute for Co-operative Education in expressing their appreciation of the leadership of Christine Webb and to wish her luck in her future endeavours.
