Richard Young will assume the position of Interim Director, Environmental Health & Safety

Vice-President Services Michael Di Grappa has announced that Richard Young will assume the position of Acting Director, Environmental Health & Safety, until a replacement is found for Sue Magor, who has retired. Until further notice, the duties of Richard Young as Director of Facilities Operation will be assumed by Associate Vice-President, Facilities Management, Peter Bolla.

Richard Young joined Concordia in 1976 and held various managerial positions as Concordia continued to grow. In 1992, he was appointed Director, Construction Services; in 1996 Manager, Capital Projects; and in 1998, Director, Facilities, Operations/Property Management. In 1998 he assumed the position of Director, Facility Operations, which has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of both campuses and all university services related to these operations. Richard co-chaired the central health and safety advisory committee for several years.

“I am very pleased that Rick has accepted this interim posting. His his rich experience in the building and safety sector makes him uniquely positioned to assure the continuity of the work of our Environmental Health & Safety office,” said Vice-President Services Michael Di Grappa.
