Vice-President, Services, Michael Di Grappa is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolina Willsher as Associate Vice-President, Human Resources, beginning September 21, 2009.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Services, the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources will provide the leadership of the Human Resources Department and the human resources function at the university.
As Associate Vice-President, Human Resources, Carolina Willsher will be accountable for the strategic planning activities and operational results of the department and for the proper governance, management and control of HR management activities across the university. The areas of responsibility include Employment and Organizational Effectiveness, Compensation, Pension and Benefits Administration, Payroll, Employee and Labour Relations and HR Systems.
As the senior human resource officer, she will also advise the Vice-President and his team on a wide variety of management issues related to human resources across the university. This includes the transformation of the Human Resources Department into a strategic participant in the fulfillment of the university’s priorities, particularly the implementation of the strategic framework.
Carolina Willsher has a rich background in leading human resource operations in a university setting, public institutions and in the private sector. She comes to Concordia from Carleton University in Ottawa, where she was the Director of Human Resources since February 2004. Before that, she was Manager and then Director of Human Resources at St. Joseph Digital Solutions, a St. Joseph Corporation Company in Ottawa and leading national provider of communication, document imaging, digital print and document logistics solutions. She was also the Director of Human Resources at the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and Director and Assistant Director of Personnel at the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry County Roman Catholic Separate School Board before that.

Carolina Willsher holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from McGill University and has completed various management programs at Croydon College (Surrey, England), the McGill University Executive Institute, Queen’s University Executive Management program and the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development at the University of Manitoba.
