ENCS launches redesign of website

The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science has officially launched the redesign of their website. The product of extensive consultation between departments and services, the Faculty and University Communications, the site offers a range of new features and an expanded news and events section.

JMSB wins 2010 Financial Open

JMSB wins gold for the second year running at the 2010 Financial Open

Students of the John Molson School of Business have once again proved their financial and accounting savvy by bringing home the Gold at the 2010 Financial Open. This is the third time that JMSB has won the Competition’s top prize since the inter-university competition began in 2006 with the goal of creating a competition for the “brightest and most sophisticated students in Finance and Accounting”. Université Laval and HEC Montréal finished in second and third place, respectively. Find out more.

Invitation to visit the new Stinger Dome, Feb. 13

The Concordia Department of Recreation and Athletics would like to invite staff, faculty and friends to come and visit the new Stinger Dome this Saturday, Feb. 13 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. For those who would like to visit — and perhaps play — be assured that no special equipment is required. Come in casual clothes and running shoes. A wide variety of indoor sports activities will be available to try. Find out more.

President Woodsworth is part of a group of business and education leaders, including a number of heads of Quebec universities, who joined Premier Jean Charest’s mission to India from Jan. 31 to Feb 6.

Concordia relief efforts for Haiti

There are a number of different activities happening on campus right now to help raise funds for Haiti and there are sure to be more in the coming days. We are compiling a list of all the different ways you can help, volunteer or donate funds. If you know of more events, want to organize an event or help volunteer, please contact Beth Morey at the Dean of Students Office. Concordia has announced $45,000 worth of funding for Quebec residents who were born in Haiti. Find out more.

We Value

A message from the We Value team

Last semester, a coalition of many University groups and departments, including the Dean of Students Office, Advocacy and Support Services, CSU, GSA, FASA, University Communications, Library, Ombuds Office and Office of Rights and Responsibilities, came together to launch “We Value”, a year-long awareness campaign that aims to reinforce a climate of respect in all University activities and interactions. Adel Hanna, Professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering suggests what needs to be done to help Haitians construct safer, more resilient buildings in the wake of the devastating earthquake.
